THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMASWe recently found ourselves enjoying the preparations that go into holidays such as Christmas, after the test run called thanksgiving, but once the “grand affair” is over. It’s over! We usually have a tendency to head back into the status quo immediately, life is normal, ho-hum, boo-o-or-r-ring. The following adaption of a popular Christmas poem may help put things in the proper perspective for today, and the coming year, and challenge us to allow this poem to speak to our hearts, just as all the others in this category of the menu do, for the remainder of time you have here on earth.
‘Tis a few days after Christmas, and out in the den
The melting snow drips through a hole in the roof
Santa long since disappeared in the fog
Children who last week were helpful and sweet
Then, carols of joy and hope filled the air
Why is it each year we are let down so hard?
His birth and His death...
If we know that Christ loves us
