Driver’s License CompactStates belonging to the Driver’s License Compact agree to report all convictions occurring therein to the State in which the motorist is licensed to drive. The home state agrees to treat the conviction as if it had occurred in the home state for official record keeping. Therefore, since the conviction for a speeding violation happened in one of the Compact states it will be treated just as a one- point violation in your home state. Everyone tattles on you. Members of the compact, as of right now, (1985) are as follows: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia.
