EACH TO EACH OWNDon Blasndings (1950)
Slim-stemmed glass is right for wine;
Milk is good in mugs,
Apple-cider bubbles fine
from jugs.
Beer and ale suggest a stein,
Buttermilk, a gourd;
Mountain-dew does not define
How it’s poured;
Tea enjoys the rare design
Of china from far lands,
Coffee does not mope nor pine
In hot-dog stands;
Benedictine would decline glass of vulgar brands,
But cold spring water, give me mine....in cupped hands.
