THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE
by: DIANE HARMONY
G RATITUDE IS THE GIFT OF BEING THANKFUL.
WHAT A WONDROUS PRESENT TO RECEIVE AND TO GIVE! IN LIVING AN ABUNDANT LIFE, GIVING THIS GIFT BECOMES THE PRAYER OF THE HEART THAT OPENS YOUR LIFE TO THE RICHES CONTAINED IN IT.
GRATiTUDE is the door to the abundance of God and all of creation. Through its magical use, you begin to appreciate every wonder of your journey.
GRATITUDE is a love vibration.
When we are grateful we exude a feeling tone of acceptance and appreciation. Thanksgiving allows us to connect to what we are experiencing from the heart space . It is when we move from our heads to our hearts that we open up to the sacred in all things and allow ourselves to feel a sense of oneness with all of life.
And so in giving the GIFT of GRATITUDE, we become aware of the presence of God in all.
GRATITUDE is a distiller of emotions. When you give thanks you are purifying your emotional response to life by focusing on love and leaving fear, doubt, worry, shame and blame behind. The simple truth is that you cannot, at one and the same time, experience appreciation and any other emotional responses. As you continue to he gratelul, the reactions that arc lesser, darker or narrower ten(l to weaken and lose their momentum, leaving you free to bc light and loving. In this state, the awareness of the abundance of life is so easy to see and experience.
GRATITUDE is the great multiplier.
Giving thanks and appreciating all that we have opens the door for us to have more. Jesus, the Christ, demonstrated this truth over and ovcr in his ministry It was after giving thanks that he w as able to feed the 5,000 from a few loaves and fishes and still have much to spare. . If you want more of something in your fife, be grateful d for what you have. The new age/ancient wisdom axiom is true: What you put your attention on grows. When you attend to something in GRATITUDE that metaphysical law is activated, and you will experience even more of it.
GRATITUDE puts you in the witness state. By giving thanks you disengage your panel of internal judges—that committee that is so ready to condemn or label the person or circumstance as anything but “good.” Freed from judging and aligned with the gilt of the experience, you will find yourself lifted into a new and welcome perspective as beholder of the greater divine perfection and pat tern of your life. You come into harmony with your essence and God’s vision for your life when you can detach from the condlitions of your life by appreciating all of them—the good and the apparently not—so—good. liven circttmstances that appear to be out of sync with your expectations (the relationship failed , another person got the job, the flu didn’t stop when you were ready to he well) wilt lose their labels of “bad” “ain’t it awful” or “what did 1 do wrong?” under the clarifying rays of a grateful heart. Your heart is now open and receptive to the gifts of God to which you would have been blind in your former, limited state of consciousness.
GRATITUDE is the grace that rc-visions our linear lives, working magic with evcry strand of past, present and future. When we are grateful br the persons and events from our past, we know we have completed the forgiveness process. Being grateful for what was allows us to have all of our selves available in the present moment.
Only when we arc unencumbered by blame, shame, resentment or guilt—negative attachments to our past—can we make sense out of the past, see its patterns, feel its rhythms, and readily extract the pearls of wisdom and grace from our past experiences. We are now indeed free to he all that we are created to be. Being thankful for what is at this present moment keeps us in acceptance of what we are actually experiencing right now, without judgment.
In that detached state we can truly know that the Holy is present in all things, now. By giving thanks we name each circumstance, each person, a blessing in our lives. Being thankful for what will be before we actually experience it grants us the consciousness to receive that which we desire. An ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE is a key element in moving us to a state of receptivity.
In that place of being receptive to our good, we move from perceived limitations into the passion of possibilities, without attachment to “how” our good is to be manifested. In GRATITUDE, we can let go and let God bring about our desired outcome.
By giving and receiving GRATITUDE, we acknowledge the truth: All life is a Gift . Thank you , God!
