A BETTER DAD THAN YOU

If I could have chosen the man to be my dad,
I would have chosen a man who put family above all else,
A man who worked hard, yet had a gentle touch, and an easy smile.

I would have looked for a man who never asked others to do what he would not,
but who set an example with his own life and values that others would want to follow;
a man who could admit mistakes, find the courage to learn from them, and keep going forward.

I would have chosen a humble man, one who was close to nature and respected all living things;
a man who was content with life and found joy in the smallest things.

If I could have chosen the man to be my dad,
I would have chosen a man of integrity, honor, and love.
I would have chosen no one but you, Dad, for you are all those things.
